Celebrating in style
The Old House staff and volunteers are feeling in the party mood.  We are celebrating being open for 60 years, as a museum.  There are stunning costumes, hats and bags dating from the 1920s & 30s with some items being recent donations. Displayed here for the very first time.

Also our volunteers favourites.
Costumes, textile and accessories hidden away in our store rooms will be displayed for a few weeks at a time.

Why not visit this fine Tudor building set in the heart of the beautiful Peak District town of Bakewell.
Discover this ancient building for yourself which is hidden away from view of any road.  Set behind Bakewell Church a short ten minute walk from the town centre.

The house has great open fireplaces and beamed ceilings.  Each room has a story to tell about times past.

This building was saved from demolition and is a testement to the hard work of volunteers who have preserved and maintained it over the last 60 years.

Can your team unlock the answers at this fun, interesting, general knowledge and history quiz.
Teams of 6 welcome.  if you are two then come along and join our volunteers.

Licensed bar with local beers, wine and soft drinks.  Light refreshments to be included in the ticket price of £8.50.
